Excited? Ready to see the cover for WAIT FOR YOU?

Some things are worth waiting for...

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago-an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe-please God-make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn't need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she's building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing...

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that's just so...so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet...

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for...

Fatal Intent

Readers of Sandra Brown and Laura Griffin are going to embrace the novels of hot new romantic suspense writer Ryshia Kennie.

An expedition into the Borneo rain forest is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for entomologist Garrett Cole. It’s this trip that could finally make her a star in her field. But when her team’s guide is found dead and headless on the banks of the river, Garrett’s dream trek suddenly becomes a nightmare. Lost in the heart of the jungle, she must fight to maintain her composure while leading a panicked team of scientists to safety.
When sexy and rugged Aidan arrives in the jungle looking as if he belongs, Garrett has no choice but to accept his help. But Aidan is more than she bargained for—a man of few words and fewer answers, as comfortable in the jungle as the mysterious native tribesmen. And as the days pass and passion flares between them, Garrett wonders if Aidan’s good intentions are just another of the jungle’s illusions.
In a land rife with predators and a killer still on the loose, can she trust the one man who claims to be their rescuer?

Title: Fatal Intent

Publisher: Beyond The Page Publishing

                                      About the Author

Ryshia Kennie is the author of three published romances. From the Dust, is a romance set during the Great Depression. Her second book, Ring of Desire, was set against a backdrop of magic and mystery, in medieval England. With her third book she settled into a genre that piqued her interest and fed her love for travel, romantic suspense. Fatal Intent is a romantic suspense set in the heart of the Borneo jungle. An award winning author, her recent novels focus on women’s fiction as well as suspense – always with a hint or even a dollop, of romance. The Canadian prairies are home where she lives with her husband and one opinionated Irish Terrier.

My Thoughts: I really like the setting. From the descriptions given it was very easy to imagine the Borneo rain forest. The scenery, wild-life and native people were described wonderfully, and left me wanting to go to the jungle. The murder mystery part of the story was also very intriguing and kept my attention.
What I didn't like was the relationship between Aiden and Garrett. I didn't feel any spark between the two. Separately, I liked the characters. Garrett is a strong female, leading an expedition through the dangerous jungle. For the most part, she keeps her act together, and keeps more people from being killed while they are stranded in the jungle. Aiden is not native to the tribe, but he really fits into the jungle. He seems to belong more than some of the ones who were born there. He is jungle-smart, and when you first meet him he is wearing a loin-cloth. But when considering the two together as a couple they were dull and their relationship was really lacking romance and a good connection. The cover to the book is probably the hottest thing that happens between Aiden and Garrett. And they knew each other for a total of 2 weeks? Maybe 3 before he was talking marriage?
I would recommend this book to someone looking for the mystery aspect in a read, not someone who looking for a romance novel.

Weekly Poll

**Edit-2/25/13**  **Well, I just check this post and realized that the YA poll didn't post correctly. HTML hates me. I will post the YA poll next sunday**

There are so many good books out there that I want to read. Sometimes, I have a difficult time deciding which book I want to dive into next. I have resorted to the childish game of eeny-meeny-mighty-mo just to decide. This week I want your help. I have listed two polls below. One list contains 4 YA novels on my to-be-read list. The other contains 4 adult novels from my to-be-read list. You can vote on one or both of the polls. The polls will close Friday at 6:00pm. The results and a new poll question will be posted on Sunday.

What should I read next? YA
What should I read next? Adult

Also, I have no idea what to call this weekly post. If you have any suggestions, please, list them below in the comments.

*Update*

It's time for another update!

I want to say a huge thank you to all my new followers! I have topped over 200. I have decided that when I get to 300 followers on GFC I will host a giveaway. I am thinking 15$-20$ for a book of choice from The Book Depository. So, share my blog anywhere and everywhere! The faster that number hits 300, the faster I will make this happen!

Next, I know I have been a little slow with the reviews the past two weeks. The reason being, I started working again! I am still getting into a routine. I work all day on Saturday and Sunday (I am a bartender), so that's two whole days of reading I am loosing each week. But I am getting a better routine during the week, so I will be back on track in the next couple of weeks. I do have a review coming in the next few days, so watch out for that. Also, I am starting a weekly poll on Sundays. Each week I will ask a different question. Make sure to check back on Sunday to leave me your opinion.

That's all for this time.
Happy Reading! Happy Blogging! Happy Writing!

This is how I feel about going to work tomorrow.

Whatcha Readin' on Wednesday?

No, No, I am not doing a meme. I have not give in to that, yet. I do not have a review to post today, and I am just honestly curious what everyone is reading today. I am always looking for more books to read-even though my TBR read list is about 100 miles long. What better way to find new books then to see what you guys are liking or disliking.

So, tell me, whether YA, NA, or Adult, What are you reading today???

I am currently reading Fatal Intent by Ryshia Kennie. I just started it late last night, and I am only a few chapters in. I really can't say if it's good or bad yet. But would you look at that cover! The cover absolutely made me pick up this book. Check back soon for my review of Fatal Intent. *This book is for Adults*

Beyond the Highland Mist (Highlander, Book 1)

Description: He would sell his warrior soul to possess her...

An Alluring laird...
He was known throughout the kingdom as Hawk, legendary predator of the battlefield and the boudoir. No woman could refuse his touch, but no woman ever stirred his heart-until a vengeful fairy tumbled Adrienne de Simone out of modern-day Seattle and into medieval Scotland. Captive in a century not her own, entirely too bold, too outspoken, she was an irresistible challenge to the sixteenth-century rogue. Coerced into a marriage with Hawk, Adrienne vowed to keep him at arm's length-but his sweet seduction played havoc with her resolve.

A prisoner in time...
She had a perfect "no" on her perfect lips for the notorious laird, but Hawk swore she would whisper his name with desire, begging for the passion he longed to ignite within her. Not even the barriers of time and space would keep him from winning her love. Despite her uncertainty about following the promptings of her own passionate heart, Adrienne's reservations were no match for Hawk's determination to keep her by his side... -Amazon

Author: Karen Marie Moning

Release date: 1999
Publisher: Dell
Pages: 416

Reading level: Adult -has graphic sex scenes

Teaser Sentence(s):  I honestly could not decide on just one sentence or small passage to put here. This time I am going to treat you to 3 teaser sentences!

'"He stands almost a hand taller. He has raven hair worn in a sleek tail; smoldering black eyes; the chiseled perfection of a young god and the body of a Viking warrior. It's revolting. May I maim him, my liege? Disfigure his perfect countenance?"'

'Hawk's eyes searched the night sky for yet another falling star. He intended to wish upon every one for the rest of his life if necessary. Surely ten thousand wishes could undo one. But the cloud cover had returned and there wasn't one flicker of a star to be seen in the absolute darkness that surrounded him.'

'In her dreams the Hawk would be waiting for her by the sea's edge; her kilt-clad, magnificent Scottish laird. He would smile and his eyes would crinkle, then turn dark with smoldering passion.'

My thoughts: Well, I was left still craving Scottish men after reading The Scent of a Soul. Especially Scottish men in kilts. I have had this book lying around since I read the Fever series by Karen Marie Moning, so I finally picked it up. I really do not know what to say, or where to even start. I wanted to like this book more, but all I can really say was it's okay. It wasn't terrible, but I barely liked it.

My main problem with this book was Adrienne, the main female character. Due to some past personal issues she swears off beautiful men, and suddenly finds her self taken from 1999 Seattle to appear in 1513 Scotland. Adrienne is the most annoying main-character I have read in a while. By the time she stopped acting like a pig-headed b*tch it was too late for me. I already disliked her too much to make up for it. The time travel aspect of this book threw me off a little, but without it there would be no Sidheach James Lyon Douglas, or Hawk.
Hawk was the main male character, and I loved him. Notice how all my teaser sentences have to do with him. He made the book readable for me. But who wouldn't like a medieval, viking size Scottish man wearing a kilt. He was very intelligent, handsome and rugged. I think the reason I disliked Adrienne so badly was because of the way she treated him through most of the book. The ending was really sweet, and definitely won Adrienne some points.
I don't know yet if I would recommend this book to anyone. It is the first in a series, and I do plan to give the next book a try. I am very curious about Adam Black. I have heard other people talking about him on other blogs, so I want to read his book eventually. I have read some other books of Karen Marie Moning and loved them, so maybe this series will get better. *fingers crossed*

Reading level: Adult- it's a pretty clean read though.

Teaser Sentence: 'He raced to the closed door and kicked it open. He only had to see Dathan's Changed form on top of Candice's half-clad body to Change himself and enter into a whole different realm of wrath. He let out a savage growl.'

My thoughts: When I saw the trailer for The Scent of a Soul, I knew I would probably like it. I love paranormal romances, but I never expected to fall in love with this book. Reading this book I lost sleep, and my housework suffered. It was worth it though. When I finished reading and it became time to decide on my rating I couldn't find one thing I did not like about this book.
I have a thing for Scottish guys. Maybe it's because of my Scottish heritage, I don't know, but I loved Marek Jamison from the second I found out he was a Scottish hottie. He was so sweet to Lilliah, and I am not even going to mention rich and handsome. There were so many characters in this story. Each and every one was well written and usually come with a ton of detail. I felt like I got to know everyone. If you have actually read any of my other reviews, then you know I love dual point-of-view. The author made sure you knew what other characters besides Lilliah were thinking when it was needed. I loved getting to see the little glimpses of Marek's mind along with others. Lilliah was a great protagonist. She seemed to stay in trouble most of the time. I can absolutely relate to that though. I never listen either. :)
I hate spoilers, so I will not give away Marek's dark secret. I jumped into this book without knowing, and it was fun trying to figure it out. But I will say it did not follow the traditions normally associated with his 'secret', and I really enjoyed the changes and differences. There is a little build up in the beginning where the story is getting set-up and goes a little slow. Once things start happening though, they do not stop. There was constantly some kind of action happening. Hence, why I lost so much sleep, because I could not put this book down! The details in The Scent of a Soul are amazing. Even the tiniest details were not over looked. Every loose end was tied up. I became so attached to every character, and when I read the epilogue my eyes were watering. There was not a single person I was left wondering about. Okay, well I lied there were actually two people I was left wondering about. Candice and Flynn....  I really hope that is another story!

**I recommend this book to everyone. Please check out the links above to purchase The Scent of a Soul, and click on Jennifer Thompson's name to visit her blog.**

*Special V-Day Post* Who's your book boyfriend?

Happy Valentine's Day!

Are you excited for the holiday or could you not care less? Me, personally, I don't care. My husband and I have been together for 13 Valentine's. We know we love each other. Some years we do not even exchange gifts. This year he received cologne, and I received books. Pretty good deal I think. He will smell nice while I read. :)

In honor of Valentine's day I want to know who your current book boyfriends are. I am still stuck on Justin Romeo from In the Band. He was hot, a musician, and all around awesome (when he wasn't being a jerk). It's partially my local radio stations fault. Every time I hear I Will Wait by Mumford and Sons I swoon. So, in the comments below, introduce me to your book boyfriends. Don't be shy, I want to meet them!

Nevermore

Description: Cheerleader Isobel Lanley is horrified when she is paired with Varen Nethers for an English project, which is due-so unfair-on the day of the rival game. Cold and aloof, sardonic and sharp-tongued, Varen makes it clear he'd rather not have anything to do with her either. But when Isobel discovers strange writing in his journal, she can't help but give this enigmatic boy with the piercing eyes another look.
Soon, Isobel finds herself making excuses to be with Varen. Steadily pulled away from her friends and her possessive boyfriend, Isobel ventures deeper and deeper into the dream world Varen has created through the pages of his notebook, a realm where the terrifying stories of Edgar Allan Poe come to life.
As her world begins to unravel around her, Isobel discovers that dreams, like words, hold more power than she ever imagined, and that the most frightening realities are those of the mind. Now she must find a way to reach Varen before he is consumed by the shadows of his own nightmares.
His life depends on it. -Amazon

Author: Kelly Creagh

Release date: August 31, 2011
Publisher: Atheneum Books
Pages: 560
Source: My personal copy
Reading level: Young Adult

Teaser Sentence(s): 'He glared up at her past the brim of his hat and, with each hand, grabbed both blades by the hilt. He yanked them from his chest in one clean motion. Gray ash poured out from the would-be wounds like sand. Then the opening closed over, and all traces of damage vanished into the blackness of his clothes.'

My thoughts: I do not even know where to begin on this one. I liked it, but sometimes it was very slow. I kept going back and forth between a 3 star rating and a 4 star rating. I normally do not do halves, but I decided I am going to rate this one 3.5 stars. I really like how the author played on Edgar Allan Poe and his works. I am a fan of Poe's, so it was interesting to see how she made a story from his stories. It was a little slow at times. I kept finding myself having to re-read pages, because my mind had started to wonder. But the creativity of the story was good and well thought out.

I really liked Varen, but not so much Isobel. I liked her friend Gwen much more. I thought Isobel was lacking a little personality, but at least she wasn't the ditsy cheerleader. The story was very well written. Everything came together really nicely at the end. Except that sad part....I am not happy about that sad part. That sad part is what's going to make me buy the 2nd book in this series. I cannot be left hanging. I really, really want to see what happens to Varen.
If you like Edgar Allan Poe and a little high school paranormal drama, then I would say read this book. There is a little romance in this read, but mostly the author sticks to telling the story.

In the Band

Description: When family problems push Riley Middleton into giving up a percussion scholarship in another state and attending college from home, her friends push her to try out for a local rock band. Of course, Riley makes the band. She rules at the drums. Riley soon finds out rock bands have a different dynamic than marching bands, especially when each of her male band mates has a major ego and is a major player. Two of them relentlessly flirt with her. The other-a dark, sexy rock god she can't help being attracted to- is a total jerk and pushes her to quit. She becomes determined to ignore his rudeness and his hotness. Even if she was interested in jerks, a hook up would probably get her booted out of the ego-ridden band, and playing keeps her sane. Behind the drums, the world and her family's troubles evaporate. If she wants to stay in the band, Riley just has to ignore the growing sparks between her and her band enemy. But as she gets to know the man behind the stage persona, ignoring him proves to be more difficult than flowing through a time shift. -Amazon

Reading level: New Adult

Teaser Sentence: 'He places a hand on the side of the van next to my head and leans near my ear. "I'll play the fiddle for you."'

My thoughts: This book was really good. I love that Riley is a kick-ass chick drummer. She could be whinny and a push over at times, but she could also be strong and determined. Some of both those personality traits made her a pretty good protagonist. She loves her family, and works hard to get done what needs to be done. Romeo is absolutely my new book boyfriend of the moment. Hot, smart, and plays a lot of different instruments, I was hooked even when he was being a jerk. The only thing that really bothered me was the ending. The story was good. The romance was good. The characters were good. The ending was wrapped up in very few pages. I didn't feel like I got the closure I needed. Maybe I just wanted more Romeo. I really could not put this book down, so I am going to say it wasn't a bad ending after all. I just wasn't ready for it to be over. Definitely read this one if you if you find a copy of it!

Teaser Sentence(s): '"They don't lock up people with the flu, Aunt Val." Not unless it's the bird flu or Stephen King's end-of-the-world flu.'

Description: She doesn't see dead people, but... She senses when someone near her is about to die. And when that happens, a force beyond her control compels her to scream bloody murder. Literally. Kaylee just wants to enjoy having caught the attention of the hottest guy in school. But a normal date is hard to come by when Nash seems to know more about her need to scream than she does. Author: Rachel Vincent
Release date: August 1, 2009
Publisher: Harlequin Teen
Pages: 384
Source: My personal copy
Reading level: Young Adult

Teaser Sentence: 'Weirdest. Tuesday. Ever.'

My thoughts: First off, My Soul to Lose is a short introduction to the Soul Screamers series. The novella goes through a short period of time where Kaylee is placed in the psych ward at the local hospital. A few things happen, but nothing that is detrimental to the story line. The stay in the hospital is referenced in My Soul to Take, but you could absolutely skip this reading and start at book one. The only real information you will acquire from the story is what happens when Kaylee has a 'panic attack'.

Now, on to My Soul to Take. This was a really refreshing read for me. I love vampires, weres, witches and other supernatural elements in the books I read, but I cannot recall a time I read one about bean sidhes (banshees). It was definitely different to have the Irish folklore, and I enjoyed that. There were some really predictable happenings in this book I saw coming from the beginning. I was almost disappointed then I was thrown a surprise. You proved me wrong, Rachel Vincent, good job! And then again I was hit with a little tidbit of information I had not anticipated in the slightest. Another good job, Rachel Vincent! I know that's all very vague, but *does her best River Song impersonation* no spoilers!
This book does contain some insta-love which usually turns me off-I am more into the agonizing suspense. But with the type of story this was it fit, so it did not get to me bad. I didn't want My Soul to Take to end. I can't wait to order the next book in this series. I really want to know what kind of crazy bean sidhe family drama happens next.

Author: Kelley Armstrong

Release date: 2004
Publisher: Bantam
Pages: 464
Source: My personal copy
Reading level: Adult

Teaser Sentence(s): 'So we ran... away from the gun-toting state troopers, through a swirling mass of spirits, pursued by baying hounds, surrounded by the screams of the damned. You know, I think the mind has a saturation point, beyond which it just doesn't give a damn. Spirits? Hounds? Cops? Who cares?'

My thoughts: When I start a new book in this series, I always have a hard time getting into it. I will usually start a book by Kelley Armstrong and then read 2 or 3 other books in between. Every time I am about to give up hope something happens, and I am hooked and cannot put the book down.

Since this is the third book in the Women of the Underworld series I went into it kind of blind. At first I was disappointed that this book is not focused around Elena and Clay. Paige makes 2 phone calls to Elena during the course of the book and that's all the interaction you get with the werewolfs. This read was strictly witch and sorcerer oriented. Paige was introduced in book two, Bitten, and, to be honest, I was not a fan. My distaste was the same the first quarter of the book, but she began to grow on me once I started to get to know her. I am very glad this book came early in the series, because I like the witches much more than before.
Lucas Cortez was a new character introduced to the series in this book. He was plain and boring at first. But after finishing the book, I really hope he makes future appearances. As much as I want to get back to Elena and Clay's part of the story, I really find myself hoping for more from the witches and sorcerers. I never would have predicted that. I became so caught up in the last few chapters of this book I didn't even hear my husband calling my name..and he was sitting right beside me. I recommend this book. Just make it past the boring first half then it's worth it!

Pure

Description: Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome-especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom-so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, Pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do-and sacrifice-for her.
When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies-lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon... and Alex. And if that and hordes of Aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude...or killing her. When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone. -back of the book

Author: Jennifer L Armentrout

Release date: April 2, 2012
Publisher: Spencer Hill Press
Pages: 329
Source: My personal copy
Reading level: Young Adult

Teaser Sentence(s): 'How in the world did they just jump from politics, to a ball, and now to daimon attacks? And here I'd thought I had the attention span of an ant on Red Bull.'

My thoughts: I am going to keep this one short, so I do not get carried away and give any spoilers. I hate spoilers!

Once again, I am very pleased with Jennifer Armentrout. She has not disappointed me yet. This book was killer on my heart and love emotions. At some point in this book I turned team Seth and started sticking my tongue out at Aiden. I can't wait to see what Deity has in store for Alex, Aiden and Seth. I couldn't be anymore torn between this crazy forbidden love triangle.
I was thrilled the gods made a small appearance. They were lesser gods-called Furies, but I was happy with the small taste I got. And they were pretty kick-ass while they were there. I am keeping my fingers crossed for an appearance of a greater god in a future book.
My only complaint is, I wish there would have been more information on what the daimons where doing. There was no lacking on the daimon attacks and battles. I am sure they were carrying out their plans stated in Half-Blood, but I would have liked some confirmation. And my last thought I am going to share: Caleb. Just *sigh* Caleb.
I love this series and would highly recommend it. As soon as I finished the last page, I asked myself "Why didn't I order the next book in this series too?"
