Under The Never Sky

Description: Since she'd been on the outside, she'd survived an Aether storm, she'd had a knife held to her throat, and she'd seen men murdered. This was worse.
Exiled from her home, the enclosed city of Reverie, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland-known as The Death Shop-are slim. If the cannibals don't get her, the violent, electrified energy storms will. She's been taught that the very air she breathes can kill her. Then Aria meets an Outsider named Perry. He's wild-a savage-and her only hope of staying alive. A hunter for his tribe in a merciless landscape, Perry views Aria as sheltered and fragile-everything he would expect from a Dweller. But he needs Aria's help too; she alone holds the key to his redemption. Opposites in nearly every way, Aria and Perry must accept each other to survive. Their unlikely alliance forges a bond that will determine the fate of all who live under the never sky.

My thoughts: There were some elements of this book that I loved. This read was definitely a little different from the books I have been reading, and that was refreshing. Veronica Rossi did a great job telling the story, and I fell in love with the futuristic setting she placed before me. The technology, the pods, the wasteland, the 'solar storms' are all believable for 100's of years in the future. I adore books that have a double point-of-view. The characters are much more relatable
when the reader is able to understand the thoughts of more than just the main protagonist.
What I didn't like about this book was the relationship between Aria and Perry. It was terribly bland. The two as a couple did not leave me feeling any emotion. Even with the forbidden love aspect, which I am obsessed with, I just could not believe in their relationship.  I like both of them separately. Aria is quick witted and tough. I hope in upcoming books she learns more about her fraternal heritage. Perry is rough, tough, scarred and tattooed, and is absolutely self-sacrificing. I love him.
I will continue to read this series. With this being Veronica Rossi's debut release, I feel she can only get better. That leaves me with much hope in this series.
