My Thoughts:

There is not much I can say that the description doesn't tell you without letting in spoilers. And I absolutely do not want to spoil anything if you have not read this. Nocte is a piece of literary art.The story sucks you in, and the characters are well written and likable. I find that when you read a lot of books, the way most of us do, you tend to be better at picking up the subtle hints and predicting endings. I never saw the twist at the end of Nocte coming, And OMG was it a twist! It was definitely not something you could have predicted. My only fear with continuing this series is that the first book was so great I am scared the next installment won't be able to hold up to the first. I still have a lot of hope for it, and cannot wait for it's release date. I would give Nocte more than five stars if my scale went that high! I recommend you drop whatever you are currently reading, and start reading Nocte. You can always go back to what you were reading once you finish.

My Thoughts:

It seems like not very long ago, during a live chat, that Jennifer L. Armentrout announced she was writing a series about gargoyles. And now, here I am writing up a review for the second book in that series. 

It's very hard for JLA to not please me. It has happened in the past, but not with this series! I loved Stone Cold Touch. Maybe not quite as much as White Hot Kiss, but I still loved it.
I guess I should go ahead and let it be known that I am team Roth. I like Zayne a lot as a character and as a best friend. But, as far as a love interest for Layla, I am Roth all the way. Roth is the crown prince of Hell, so I feel he needs a little good in his life. And he definitely needs some love. I like the idea of Zayne being a protector and friend to Layla.
Layla has definitely done some growing up. She has been lied to and betrayed so many times that she is learning she can't even trust the ones she always thought of as her family. Stone Cold Touch ends with her just about losing everything. I can't wait to see how she ends up handling everything in the next installment. Layla has grown so much as a character that I expect her to woman-up and take on the world.
This book has lots of twist and turns along the way making it stay interesting. It was very hard to stop turning pages. Bambi is almost a constant. (Who ever would have though I would love a snake so much) There is plenty of Roth and Zayne, some betrayals, and
the ending was OMG! I cannot believe we have to wait until next year to find out where it goes from here.

My Thoughts:

Okay, I am trying to figure out where to even start here. At first I was worried. I thought the book had a really slow start. It took until about half way through before the story picked up. 

The Iron Queen is book 3, so by now I know all the characters pretty well. I was thrilled that Ironhorse was mentioned as much as he was, and in his own way played a very important part in helping make things easier on Meghan and her companions. 

"Be quite, Goodfellow," Ash growled, peering into the shadows with narrowed eyes. "We're not alone."

"Yeah? How do you figure that, prince? I don't see anyone" (Puck)

"The cait sith has disappeared."

"...crap." (Puck)

I love Puck and Grimalkin. Usually, I do not like talking cats. There are very few exceptions to this for me. (Cheshire Cat, Salem) Grimalkin is absolutely one of my exceptions. His attitude is just how I think every cat thinks-a little stuck-up and only looking out for themselves. Although, I do believe Grim helps more selflessly than he is given credit for. He doesn't always make a bargain or gain something in return. 

Puck also has an I-don't-give-a-crap attitude that makes me love him even more. He is continuously loyal to Meghan. Even after she hurt him, and broke his heart. He is still always there when she needs him. Always trying to make her happy, even if it's at his own expense. He is the perfect best-friend.

'And he stayed there, kneeling beside me, holding my hand in his. Something splashed the back of my hand, cold as spring water, crystallizing to my skin. A faery's tears.'

Ash wrecks havoc on my emotions. It only takes about 2 sentences involving him to break my heart. For a dark, winter faery, who hardly ever shows any emotions himself, his scenes get to me the most. I do not know how Julie Kagawa manages this, but Kudos to you, Julie. Ash makes the series for me. I am super excited the next book, The Iron Knight, is his book. (yay!)

My Thoughts:

It's been a couple weeks since I finished reading Clockwork Princess, and it's still getting to me. I opened the book to check the number of pages, and seriously, my eyes start watering!

Cassandra Clare managed to conclude this series flawlessly. Everything came together smoothly in the end. I never would have guessed the love triangle between Tessa, Jem and Will would have worked out the way it did. I grew really close to these characters throughout this series, and it really is sad to have to let go of them all. In the end, I have never been more happy for a fictional character than I was for Tessa. She got everything she deserved; love, happiness, and answers to secrets long kept. 

If you haven't read The Infernal Devices or Mortal Instruments, I suggest you do so, and make yourself familiar with the world of the Shadowhunters!

My Thoughts:

If you follow the Covenant series, then this is a novella you really should read. I usually deem novellas unnecessary, but in this case I think you need to read Elixir to get the full effect of Apollyon. You will not lose out much on valuable information, but you will lose out on emotions. In Apollyon, Aiden's feelings and behavior reflect from events that happen in Elixir. It's the same with Alex. You get a much clearer picture of who she is while connected to Seth. Plus this novella is written from Aiden's point-of-view and it's free to download! You can get your copy HERE.

My Thoughts:

This series just keeps getting better and better!

When I started reading The Covenant series, one thing that interested me the most was the Greek Gods. Since childhood, I have had an obsession with Greek Mythology. Apollyon absolutely fed my need for the gods. Of course Apollo was in Apollyon, he has made appearances in the past couple Covenant books. There was also Hermes, Artemis, Ares, Dionysus, Persephone and within the first 50 pages Apollo and Thanatos are throwing god bolts and the 2 remaining Furies are in action.

I do not want to give away any spoilers, so I am keeping this short and sweet. If you have not ever read this series, you need too! There is still one book left to come out this summer, so you still have time to get caught up! You can start out by downloading the free prequel novella Daimon HERE. 

I recommend this book to anyone and everyone who likes to read young adult novels. This is one of my favorite series in that genre. I am excited for book #5 Sentinel, but at the same time I do not want this series to end.

My Thoughts:

I do not even know where to begin on my thoughts for Soul Bender. This read was a work-out on my emotions and feelings. (Don't you love when books do that to you? I do!)

I absolutely loved the new character, Cody. I was even starting to favor him over Peter. I cannot even explain how I felt when I found out his dirty, little secret. I am still not sure how I feel about this. Do I like this idea or do I have to hate him now? Hmm..I guess we will see. 

Peter really pissed me off is this book. He did manage to redeem himself, but I was a part of the Peter-hating fan club for a while. I loved this though. I really enjoy when a book makes me feel strong emotions. Even though I am angry with certain characters at certain times, I really am proud of the author for being able to accomplish this. 

I love how far Anna has come since the beginning of the Soul Walker. She has grown and matured into a totally bad-ass Touched Girl. Her new powers are awesome, and I love the new vamps that are introduced because of her new gifts. I really am excited to see what happens to her next.

My thoughts:

It is hard to talk about the 3rd book in a series, without giving away spoilers from the other books, so this one may be a little short. 

I think Deity is the best I have read so far in the Covenant series. I sometimes think JLA is trying to send her readers into an emotional breakdown. I wanted to scream, cry, kick and throw a fit throughout this book. 

There were finally a few gods that had speaking roles. I have loved Greek mythology longer than I can remember, so I was super thrilled when some of the gods started showing up. 

I have decided I am firmly team Aiden. And Deacon and Luke-yep, I like that.

My thoughts:

Books about angels can be either hit or miss in my personal opinion. I feel it's really hard to write one that I like. I was thrilled with The Morning Star. It had lots of angels and talk of the creator, but I did not feel like I was being preached to, or reading an overly religious book. 

A Morning Star is filled with well written characters I immediately connected with. Everyone was very well written. I loved the way Lucifer was portrayed. He was still very angelic in his appearance and social standings, but still had the attitude you would expect out of a fallen angel. Dawn-the daughter of Lucifer and an Archangel- is relatable, and an awesome protagonist. She has a lot of good in her, but she is the daughter of the devil. And, Gabriel, he's hot, blonde, and British. (I swear I go into books not knowing there is going to be a guy with an accent.) I think I am in love with this angel. 
The feel, the story line, the characters-everything about this book felt fresh and new to me. The only thing I had a problem with was that it ended. (But that's a good thing right?) This is one of those series that I want to have the next book in my hands the day it comes out. I recommend you get a copy now!

My thoughts: When I saw the trailer for The Scent of a Soul, I knew I would probably like it. I love paranormal romances, but I never expected to fall in love with this book. Reading this book I lost sleep, and my housework suffered. It was worth it though. When I finished reading and it became time to decide on my rating I couldn't find one thing I did not like about this book. 

 I have a thing for Scottish guys. Maybe it's because of my Scottish heritage, I don't know, but I loved Marek Jamison from the second I found out he was a Scottish hottie. He was so sweet to Lilliah, and I am not even going to mention rich and handsome. There were so many characters in this story. Each and every one was well written and usually come with a ton of detail. I felt like I got to know everyone. If you have actually read any of my other reviews, then you know I love dual point-of-view. The author made sure you knew what other characters besides Lilliah were thinking when it was needed. I loved getting to see the little glimpses of Marek's mind along with others. Lilliah was a great protagonist. She seemed to stay in trouble most of the time. I can absolutely relate to that though. I never listen either. :) 

 I hate spoilers, so I will not give away Marek's dark secret. I jumped into this book without knowing, and it was fun trying to figure it out. But I will say it did not follow the traditions normally associated with his 'secret', and I really enjoyed the changes and differences. There is a little build up in the beginning where the story is getting set-up and goes a little slow. Once things start happening though, they do not stop. There was constantly some kind of action happening. Hence, why I lost so much sleep, because I could not put this book down! The details in The Scent of a Soul are amazing. Even the tiniest details were not over looked. Every loose end was tied up. I became so attached to every character, and when I read the epilogue my eyes were watering. There was not a single person I was left wondering about. Okay, well I lied there were actually two people I was left wondering about. Candice and Flynn....  I really hope that is another story!

My thoughts: Okay, here is a list of things I am obsessed with: (1) Jennifer L Armentrout (2) Greek and Roman mythology (3) A great Young Adult Novel (4) and probably my most favorite, Forbidden Love. The Covenant series has all of those things and more. I was a very happy girl when I finished Half-Blood. 

  Daimon (pronounced DEE-mun) is not a necessary read. You could start the series off at book one, Half-Blood, and you would not be too confused. The novella does give you incite to what happens in the few weeks before the story actually starts, and there are referrals to some of these events in Half-Blood. All-in-All I do not think it would ruin the story if you couldn't get your hands on a copy of Daimon. 

  So far, I haven't read anything by Jennifer L Armentrout that I haven't went all fan-girl over. I love her writing style and I love her kissing scenes. Alex is a great kick-ass girl character, and I completely fell for Aiden. The characters are great, the story is great. Half-Blood gets the rarely given 5 star-rating. I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy of Pure. If I had it, I would be reading it right now!
